Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalaf Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Assistant Professor Dr. Asaad Hassan Al-Zaidy, the College of Pharmacy at Al-Qadisiyah University/Sustainable Development Unit held a seminar entitled “Environmental Pollution and the Role of Afforestation in Protecting the Earth.” This seminar was part of the unit’s activities aimed at promoting environmental awareness and establishing the principles of sustainable development within the academic community. The seminar was presented by Ms. Nourhan Intizar Kadhim, who highlighted the importance of afforestation and recycling in protecting the planet from the dangers of environmental pollution. The seminar emphasized the importance of environmental awareness and the role of universities in supporting green projects.
The seminar included four main themes:
1. Causes and types of environmental pollution and its impact on human health and living organisms.
2. The role of afforestation in absorbing pollutants and reducing global warming.
3. Recycling as a sustainable environmental and economic solution for reducing waste and pollution. 4. National and international initiatives in the field of afforestation and environmental protection.
