Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Rahi Kalf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Hayawi and Attia Al-Jawdari, Dean of the College of Agriculture, the College of Agriculture held a training course entitled “Chemical Risk Management in University Laboratory Environments” in the college’s conference hall. Presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Raad Farhan Shahd and Assistant Professor Muntadhar Mahmoud Abu Hila, the course aimed to provide participants with basic knowledge and skills in the field of chemical safety. It covered several topics, most notably the principles of safe handling of chemicals, as well as response plans for spills and fires, and methods for storing and disposing of chemical waste.
The most important conclusions: Promoting a culture of safety and prevention in the laboratory environment. In an effort to spread a culture of safety and promote a safe work environment in university laboratories, the college emphasized that organizing such courses is part of its strategic plan to raise the efficiency of university staff in the field of security and safety, and to ensure the provision of an educational and research environment.
