Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Rahi Kalf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Munir Abdul Amir Abdul Fatlawi, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Department of Diseases and Poultry Diseases held a seminar on avian influenza, presented by Professor Dr. Nafie Sayeh Jassim.
The seminar aimed to identify the avian influenza virus and its types, particularly subtypes such as H5N1 and H7N9, the genetic changes that occur within it, and to understand how the virus is transmitted between birds and from birds to humans, as well as the environmental or behavioral factors that contribute to the spread of infection.
The seminar recommended the establishment and development of effective surveillance systems for early detection of avian influenza cases in both birds and humans, and the implementation of strict preventive measures on farms. Poultry
