Under the generous patronage of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, and in cooperation with the Diwaniyah Provincial Council and the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Rahi Kalf Mahdi Al-Yasiri, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Arts, Professor Dr. Nabil Imran Musa Al-Khalidi.

The College of Arts at Al-Qadisiyah University, in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Youth and the National Digital Youth Team, held the first scientific conference on artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and cybersecurity. The conference was attended by the university president, deans of colleges, representatives of the Diwaniyah Governorate, a group of officials from relevant government and security institutions, and academic and scientific elites. The conference, held under the title “Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence: Towards a Smart and Secure Future for Iraq,” began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a recitation of Surat Al-Fatihah in memory of Iraq’s martyrs. The national anthem was then played, followed by a speech by Mr. Mohammed Al-Khazai, advisor to the Governor of Diwaniyah. This was followed by a speech by Professor Dr. Nabil Imran Musa Al-Khalidi, Dean of the College of Arts. This was followed by a speech by Professor Haroun Al-Sharaa, head of the Martyrs Foundation, and then by Professor Ali Ahmed, representative of the Prime Minister’s Office for the Supreme Council for Youth. A scientific session was then held, moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Hussam Al-Yasiri from the Department of Arabic Language. Lecturers included Professor Dr. Hussein Ali Abdul-Hussein from the Department of Geography, Professor Dr. Zeina Ali Saleh, Head of the Department of Psychology, Professor Dr. Hatem Rashid Ali from the Department of Sociology, Professor Alaa Ta’ima Abdul-Hussein from the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, and Lieutenant Colonel Abbas Al-Barqawi from the Community Police. The lecturers reviewed a number of important topics in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital transformation, electronic extortion, and ways to prevent it. They also highlighted the importance of digital processing and electronic employment in the workplace, as part of the transition from a paper-based to an electronic world. Among the most important recommendations emerging from the conference’s scientific session were the optimal use of artificial intelligence to enhance the economic progress of our beloved Iraq, the application of AI capabilities in psychological fields and their testing, and the establishment of a special center for artificial intelligence and cybersecurity at Al-Qadisiyah University to hold seminars, lectures, and workshops. This will enhance cybersecurity and artificial intelligence in the transition to the digital world, and strengthen digital and cybersecurity cooperation with the community police, which utilizes its community security capabilities to serve the university and academic work environment. The conference also highlighted the importance of enacting laws and regulations that regulate the pace and uses of digital transformation, as well as printing and publishing the proceedings of the working papers presented at the conference, as they presented a number of issues related to digital transformation and cybersecurity that benefit society in all its components. This conference is a practical step within the vision of the Iraqi government, led by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, to build a safe digital Iraq led by its conscious youth.
