The British Times University Rankings Corporation issued the fifth edition of the annual Sustainable Impact Rankings (The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings) for international universities and academic institutions, which measures the effectiveness of these institutions by applying sustainable development indicators approved by the United Nations. The classification included an evaluation of 1,591 educational institutions in 112 countries around the world. World by location:

The published results showed a noticeable increase in the number of Iraqi universities and colleges that secured their positions in the Times Sustainable Development classification to fifty-six universities, topped by the University of Basra, which ranked (401-600) globally, then the University of Babylon (601-800) and the University of Baghdad (601-800).
Al-Qadisiyah University achieved the ranking (+1001) after entering with five goals out of seventeen goals, registering an advanced rank in the aforementioned classification, as follows:

  • Sequence (+1001) globally according to goal data (17) (Partnerships for The Goals)
  • The sequence (401-600) globally according to the data of goal (12) (Responsible consumption and production)
  • Sequence (201-300) globally according to target data (7) (Affordable and clean energy)
  • The sequence (801-1000) globally according to the data of goal (3) (good health and well-being)
  • Sequence (301-400) globally according to the data of goal (2) (Zero Hunger)

The achievement of our university at these advanced levels is a major achievement worthy of praise and appreciation and an excellent indicator that expresses the commitment of the university, represented by its president, Professor Dr. Kazem Jabr Al-Jubouri, and its esteemed council, to commit to applying the standards approved by the United Nations in sustainable development and the principles of the government program approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research from In order to provide a high-quality, sustainable academic and research environment.
It is worth noting that our university’s professors and researchers are working with determination and seriousness to achieve solid global achievements with a sustainable impact by providing services of societal benefit and contributing to the dissemination of scientific research related to the seventeen goals of sustainable development in order to achieve leading positions in the Times classification and other international classifications. Hence, the honorable President of the University praises the efforts of His Excellency the Honorable Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the advanced ministerial staff in his continued support for Iraqi universities and urging more efforts in academic excellence and employing the available capabilities in achieving strategic policies for higher education of a sustainable nature.
