Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Kadhim Jabr Al-Jubouri, President of Al-Qadisiyah University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Nabil Omran Al-Khalidi, Dean of the College of Arts, the Arabic Language Integrity Unit at the College of Arts, in cooperation with the Ahl al-Bayt Complex in Diwaniyah, held a memorial forum for Lady Khadija (peace be upon her). The forum was held under the slogan: (Khadija the Great, the Believer, the Truthful, the Consoling). The forum included a scientific symposium entitled (Khadija: A Model and a Role Model), moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Hussam Adnan Al-Yasiri, Head of the Arabic Language Integrity Unit, and attended by His Eminence Sayyid Imad Al-Yahya Al-Moussawi and Dr. Asmaa Abdul Hussein and Dr. Nadia Salem Issa
The symposium addressed several topics, including the status of Lady Khadija, her position in Mecca, her management of commercial activities, and her role in supporting the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). It also addressed her relationship with the Prophet as a wife, and the injustices she faced during that period, as reported in sources regarding her life, marriage, and death. It also emphasized her status as a role model in life.
The aim of the symposium was to commemorate Lady Khadija the Great, Mother of the Believers, and to re-examine her history and status. This was intended to familiarize students with her stature and efforts in supporting the Prophethood. It also aimed to inform the attendees of the importance of her role in commercial activities and the role and status of women in Islam, alongside the Prophethood, which granted them a place in work that serves society. It also aimed to criticize erroneous historical thinking and correct the misconceptions surrounding Lady Khadija’s birth and marriage before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). The first edition of the symposium included a competition for students with a number of questions on Quranic aspects and those related to Lady Khadija and her life. The competition included prizes for students who answered correctly.
