The Women’s Affairs Unit, in collaboration with the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at the College of Law at Al-Qadisiyah University, held a scientific workshop titled (Steps to Success in the Legal Profession). The workshop was conducted by Assistant Professor Dr. Sundus Mohammed Abbas, with a lecture by Assistant Lecturer Arslan Abbas Jaber.
The workshop aimed to clarify the importance of lawyering and its role in serving justice, guiding novice lawyers to develop their legal skills, benefit from the experiences of previous lawyers and judges, and enhance ethical and professional values in the practice of law.
The workshop concluded with guidance for novice lawyers, emphasizing that new lawyers should benefit from the experiences of their former colleagues and judges to enhance their legal knowledge and the ethical motivation of a successful lawyer. They should possess a noble desire to defend the oppressed, rather than a drive for financial gain. Additionally, the training period is seen as an opportunity to enhance practical skills and build a network of relationships with clients, while good ethics and personal trust are considered among the most important factors for success in the legal profession.
The workshop recommended the introduction of training programs for students, coordinating between law colleges and institutions in the field of law.
