Under the patronage of the President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kazem Jaber Al-Jubouri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdul Wahab Al-Iraqi, the Guidance and Psychological and Social Counseling Unit at the College of Science completed a scientific seminar titled “Internet Addiction.” The seminar featured presentations by Assistant Professor Dr. Solaf Hamid Timouz and Lecturer Muthanna Muthafar Muslim.
The seminar aimed to highlight the negative effects resulting from electronic addiction, a condition in which individuals become excessively dependent on digital devices (smartphones, tablets, and computers) and digital content (social media, games, video platforms, and online shopping). It emphasized that these effects include an increase in the number of hours spent online and anxiety and stress in case of internet connectivity issues.
